I continued working on this yesterday and I am now almost ready to put together the pieces blocks that get sewn on the bottom of this block 😊. I am hoping to have it finished by tomorrow night, ready to get onto the 'best friends' block next.

FNSI, September 2013
Friday night I spent the evening re-watching the first season 'Criminal Minds' while working on prepping the elements in another SKoW block - the 'sewing' block. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of it Friday night, but here it was on Saturday while watching 'Anne of Green Gables' and working on needle-turning those elements ...

Some SKoW fun!!
Over the last few weeks I've had fun making some more 'Some Kind of Wonderful' items :)
First up, the SKoW bag and needle-book that I showed here, given to Melody as part of my F.R.I.E.N.D.S. swap ...

I have also been able to get another block done of my quilt, the rainbow block ...
It wasn't as fiddly as I thought it would be, though I have to say, I appreciated my LED Lightbox/pad immensely when laying all the pattern pieces out!! Thanks to Vicki of Pickledish Patch for making them available!!!
I have sewn together all the pieces for this (middle) row, all but including this block in there, so I'll get that put together before I show this row in it's loveliness *grin*. This leaves me with three blocks left to make, the friendship block, the sewing block, and the 'chair' possibly wine and cheese (or working out/exercise - I really enjoy it while I'm doing it ... it's just getting me there, or making the time where I struggle!) block. Here's hoping I get some blocks prepped and done in the next few days!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. swap
** Apologies!! I thought I'd scheduled this to go out last week ... seems I scheduled the wrong week - oops!!!
I was lucky enough to not only get to participate in Khris' F.R.I.E.N.D.S. swap, but also to swap with the lovely Melody of The House on the Side of the Hill - a blog I've enjoyed following for the last couple of years.
From Melody, I received these lovelies ...
F is for floral fat quarter, flower bag, floral motifs and a flower brooch ... R is for red fabric, red ribbon, red threads and a raffle ticket ... I is for Illumination (a candle holder) and and iron cord holder ...
E is for edible so eat me right now ... N is for napkins ... D is for doilys and do you want to sew me? ... and S is for something to cook and something to wear while you are cooking (an apron).
In the spotty parcel, Melody also included a few little gifties for my darling little miss ... an apron like Mummy's, a cute dog fold up bag, a fancy pencil and something to eat (caramello koalas).
Thankyou, once again, Melody! We love it all!!
And the items I sent Melody ...
F is for Fabric (charm pack) ... R is for Red (ribbon, thread & buttons) ... I is for Insulated Pot Holders (double friendship block in Bake Sale by Lori Holt fabric) ... D is for Delicious (yes, I got the images mixed up, lol ... Malteasers & Madame Flavour tea) ...
And S is for Sewing case, smelly soap and a vintage tin with guitermann thread to sew with:)
That's two 'Some Kind of Wonderful' sewing bag and needlebook sets I've made for others ... should really make one of my own, lol!
I was glad to hear that Melody liked all these goodies - trolling through her blog was fun! It allowed me to get to know her a bit better and figure out that pretty much anything I like, she will too :) Perfect match! ... Sooo looking forward to when we will (hopefully) get to meet in March at next year's Lets Get Stitched gathering in Melbourne!!!
... So sorry I haven't posted for so long!! I will try to update again soon as I have a few more 'B.F.F.' BOM blocks finished and another SKoW block & row done!!

E is for "Emergency" Portable First-Aid Kit ... incidentally, Melody shared the link for this pattern about a week after I'd decided I would make it for her, lol!

Weekend stitching ...
This weekend I pulled out my first 'installation' of Rosalie Quinlan's BFF BOM ... figured I should probably start since my second pack is on it's way over from the lovely Sarah @ Patchworks Plus :) .
I haven't done a lot yet, but it's nice to start a new stitchery project!!
I do still have a few (well, four) more blocks of my Some Kind of Wonderful quilt to make up, but I decided to splurge this week and purchase my very first light box!!! Until now I've been able to get by without one, but the final few blocks have just too many small pieces to position ... along with wanting to start Leanne Beasley's latest Vignette BOM, that I decided I had enough reason to reward myself with one. Come this time next week (I hope!!), I'll be putting together my last few SKoW blocks with some 'light' help *giggle*.
